Summer Camp 2026 - turning an unexpected storm into an adventure

When you picture a summer event, you think of blue skies and warm weather, not a coastal downpour… But who, if not us, would make the absolute most of it?
For weeks, our camp destination was a total secret. All we knew was to pack sturdy shoes, bring our camp spirit, and that we would stay overnight, which meant a sleepover with 300 people!
To pull it off, we flew around 80 colleagues from our Lisbon hub to Hamburg, uniting our whole company before heading out into the unknown together.
So from September 4th to 5th, we swapped desks and meetings for a classic camp experience, a strong coastal breeze, and two days at camp freiheit. And the weather didn’t hold us back for a second. We got soaked on our hike missions through the dunes of Sankt Peter-Ording, bonded over having water in our shoes, and proved that rain could not dampen our spirits.
Back at camp, we dried off, took a hot shower, and refueled with warm tea and coffee, beer, wine and cake before getting competitive over soccer, volleyball, and classic German ‘Brennball’. Because ​​there’s no freiheit.com party without a little competition!
As night fell, we filled the camp with music and food. First came live tunes from our very own freiheit band, followed by a delicious dinner by our friends at Salt & Silver. We wrapped up the night with board games and some action on the dance floor… the rest is history.
It turned out to be the ultimate test of one of our core principles: we either find a way or make one.
Because a community doesn’t just grow in the sunshine. Its true strength shows when nothing goes according to plan, turning an unexpected storm into an adventure and lasting core memories.
