freiheit.com explained | Onboarding

Everyone starts as a Newbie. From day one, they contribute to real projects and take ownership of their work.

No matter their experience, all Newbies share the same goal: learning how to build and run large-scale software systems – and growing into full-stack software engineers.

Over their first six months, they’re closely guided by Mentors and Newbie People Partners through code reviews, pair programming, clear task breakdowns and regular feedback. On top of that, personal check-ins create space for questions, reflection, and growth.

Passing probation means one thing: being able to work independently. Step by step, Newbies take on more responsibility as they prove they can reliably deliver.

That’s how becoming a Newbie isn’t just onboarding – it’s joining and contributing to a community that learns, builds and grows together.
